Wolves Overrun Airport in Rural China

South China Morning Post / November 28, 2003

Hong Kong - Wolves have overrun a rural airport in China's Inner Mongolia province, a news report said on Friday.

One wolf was even seen wandering down the runway while a plane attempted to take off from Dongshan Airport in Hulum Buir, according to the South China Morning Post.

The wolf population in the area has risen dramatically since officials abolished a policy of killing packs of wolves, the newspaper said. - Sapa-DPA
