Beating of Our Hearts

Philip Trujillo / Age 14 / San Antonio TX

This page is one of over 1500 pages in our library! Visit our homepage for a full menu of options!

The blood in my veins is that of yours,
The air you breathe is the same as mine,
I hunt to live, you hunt for sport,
Yet our hearts are to beat as one,
For when are hearts are in time,
The world is at peace,
Yet still you make my heart still,
Until I may be let to breathe again,
The world shall never be at rest.
So let me breathe and roam the land free,
Do you not see how alike we are?
You and me?
Just let me breathe, and be free.
