Possible Discovery of Preserved Ezo Wolf Cub at Local Elementary School

Hokkaido Webzine / Monthly Web Magazine

It was learned on January 30 that what is likely to be an Ezo wolf cub preserved through taxidermy has been found at Sapporo Municipal Odori Elementary School. The Ezo wolf was an inhabitant of Hokkaido until it became extinct in the 1890s. There are only four taxidermic specimens of the Ezo wolf in the world, all of which are adults. If the aforementioned specimen is confirmed to be an Ezo wolf, it will become the world's only cub specimen, making it highly valuable as an academic material.
